Yelahanka is a suburb of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka originally envisaged as a satellite  town of Bangalore City, but now part of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike. Yelahanka is located near the fast developing northern section of Greater Bangalore, about 14 kilometers from downtown Bangalore. Yelahanka has become one of the main business centers of Bangalore City.Yelahanka has lakes surrounding it, the prominent ones being Yelahanka Kere and Puttenhalli Lake which has officially been declared a bird sanctuary. The station lies on the train line connecting Bangalore with North, West and Central India via Guntakal Junction.
